Frequently asked questions
How do I share my pantry with my household?
Both of you need to be signed in. Go to Profile → Household → Invite to get an invite code and send it to the person you want to add. They open Profile → Household → Join and enter the code. After that you'll share the same pantry, shopping list and staples.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and the data synced to it. If you share a household, the shared pantry and lists stay with the remaining members. It’s also removed from this phone.
Why do AI meal ideas need an account?
Generating recipes costs us money each time, so an account lets us keep a fair daily limit per person and prevent abuse. Everything else in the app works without signing in.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Your pantry, shopping list and saved recipes are stored on your device and work without a connection. AI meal ideas, barcode product lookups, store aisle lookups and syncing need an internet connection.
What's included in Pro, and how do I cancel?
The free plan includes one set of AI meal ideas and one full recipe every 7 days; everything else in the app is free. Pro removes that limit. To cancel, open your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cupboard Chef. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. For refunds, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. If Pro doesn't show up on a new phone, sign in and tap Profile → Cupboard Chef Pro → Restore Purchases.
How do aisle numbers work?
Aisle numbers are available for Kroger-family stores only. In Profile → Default grocery store, choose Kroger and pick your store, and the app will sort your shopping list by that store’s aisles. Choose Other for any other store. Publix and most other stores don't offer a public API for this, so for those the app groups your list by store section (produce, dairy, frozen and so on) instead.
My data isn't syncing. What should I do?
First make sure you're signed in (check Profile) and connected to the internet. Then pull down to refresh, or close and reopen the app. If it still doesn't sync, email us at support@getcupboardchef.com.
